A group of sanborn maps compiled by ______ in 2012 indicate that it was built between 1886 and 1901, at the northwest corner with Park Street. Probably built originally as a two-family house, it was labeled a "Rooming House" on the 1954 Sanborn (see below). A two-family house at 379 / 381 Crown were taken down by 1954 and the lot was being used for a parking lot and auto repair...
This early 19th century building, a one-time residential dwelling, is now inhabited by Yale's Art & Architecture Library.
